Mr Inkster will discuss the new IISS Strategic Dossier,
The FARC Files: Venezuela, Ecuador and the Secret Archive of ‘Raúl Reyes'. This dossier is a detailed analysis of data seized from a FARC camp by the Colombian Armed Forces in 2008. Mr Inkster’s remarks will focus on the FARC’s engagement with Venezuela and Ecuador.
Nigel Inkster is the Director of Transnational Threats and Political Risk at the IISS. He is one of Britain’s top intelligence professionals, and served in the British Secret Intelligence Service (SIS) from 1975 to 2006. He was previously Assistant Chief and Director for Operations and Intelligence at SIS. Mr Inkster graduated from St John’s College at Oxford University with a degree in Oriental Studies.
